How would sticking to their rules show how "bent" they are?
They didn't write the rules knowing the first time they were to be needed might involve us.

We lose 0-1, they win 2-1
Both on 62 points, +14, and 64 goals.
I guess even if they waited until after Man U won (if the did) the cup, it would decide who went to the group stage, assuming Liverpool did not win the Europa League.
(Another tie-breaker I have seen is most wins, which would not favour us.)

Lets hope we win at Stoke
A Europa League play-off would be totally wrong anyway
In any other league if this unlikely scenario happened it would go down to head to head results between the 2 teams involved
We have beaten Liverpool home & away in the EPL this season
If the PL chiefs ordered a play off for a Europa League place under such circumstances, it would only emphasise how bent they are!

Saw this the other day and could very well be wrong but I can't see any possible combination of scorelines which would see us end on the same points, goals scored, and goal difference.

Just one final effort required. Hopefully Swansea should still be in their minds.
They have nothing to play for and that makes them potentially tricky.

We should get three points at Stoke
a) we're better;
b) we've loads more to play for.
But "should" is an untrustworthy word in our neck of the woods, and often fails to deliver on its promise

Simplest solution is for us to get 3 pts at Stoke, just hope Slaven has the team fired up as they were on Tuesday

C.17. If at the end of the Season either the League Champions or the Clubs to be relegated or the
question of qualification for other competitions cannot be determined because 2 or more
Clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the Clubs concerned shall play off
one or more deciding League Matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of
which shall be determined by the Board.

Its only a playoff if when we played each other it was a draw both times, or both teams beat each other by the same score.

Highly unlikely but totally ridiculous if true! There can be no justification for H2H not to be incorporated into the rules.
In some leagues it's given greater credence than goal difference.
